Kuntai’s 30,000sqm factory specializes in the heavy-duty hot-pressing required for structural-grade bamboo. Our US-patented decking technology is pushed to its limits here, using raw Moso strands that are longer and more densely woven. This results in a material that out-performs most tropical hardwoods (like Ipe) in bending strength and hardness, making Kuntai a leader in structural bio-materials.

For extreme load areas, we recommend thru-bolting into steel or aluminum sub-frames. The high density of the material provides excellent screw-withdrawal resistance and bolt-bearing capacity.
The bamboo strands are subjected to 25,000kN of pressure during the hot-press phase. This eliminates all internal voids, creating a solid "bio-steel" material that is uniform from the surface to the core.
Available in "Big Wave" and "Anti-Slip Ribbed" profiles to ensure public safety. Colors are typically deep carbonized tones that effectively mask the heavy wear and tear of industrial environments.
We provide "Load-Span Tables" and certified engineering data to help structural engineers calculate the required board thickness for specific project loads.
